Author's Notes: July 11th 2017 prompt: The Bard

‘He is clever and although I do not fear him, there are none more fear-worthy than Milverton. He reads much. He is a great observer of men's actions and motives, and leverages that against them.

‘He does not appreciate the arts, as you do Watson. He seldom smiles but when he does, it is in a predatory or mocking way, and never in humour. He scorns such things.

‘Men of his ilk hold such contempt for their betters and this makes them very dangerous.

‘Milverton wants to be feared, Watson. It is the only power he can have over us.’

Author's Note: We have been here twice before. On July 22nd 2013, A Bard by Any Other Name, and again July 15th 2016, Bard vs Bard.  Both of these are better than today's offering.
