‘I’m sorry, Mr Holmes,’ said Lestrade, shocked at such intentional cruelty. ‘We’re too late. Their questioning has driven him insane.’
‘No! …Watson, say something.’
‘…Dodsworth did the deadly deed…’ Watson gasped, closing his eyes again.
‘You see? He’s barking—’
‘Hush. Listen to him!’
‘…Priest protected poor parishioner…,’ Watson implored.
‘No, Lestrade, it’s not madness, only confusion. He’s been using word games to defy his tormentors! Father Flemmyng was innocent. You need to review the testimonies. Well done, Watson.’
‘…Watson... wasn’t worthy…,’ Watson whispered, recoiling from his friend’s touch.
‘No! You must never believe that,’ Holmes insisted, silently vowing revenge.

Date: 2013-08-09 12:16 am (UTC)I am not a very clever alliteratrix. I needed to find an excuse to alliterate. But I am a fan of whump... no excuse needed there.
