Author's Notes: July 15th prompt: That old saying

Mr Henry Barber-Jones suffered horribly if his contorted features were any indication.

‘Come away, Watson, there is nothing to be found here,’ said Sherlock Holmes.

‘I think that Barber-Jones was poisoned with the same alkaloid he used on his wife.’

‘No. Suicide seems more likely. Let it go.’

‘Suicide? Surely not. Yesterday he was so confident that he practically crowed; saying that you had no proof against him, that the poison was virtually untraceable.’

Holmes took Watson’s arm and drew him aside.

‘Then what of it? Justice has been served. What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.’

.oOOo.
