‘Ah Watson, thank you for coming,’ said Arthur Conan Doyle extended his hand in greeting.
‘It’s wonderful to see you, Doyle. You’re not trying to get me to publish more stories are you?’
‘No, dear fellow, I have ceased beating that dead old nag. No, I have a friend I would like you to meet. He has written a stage play and I’m trying to persuade him to expand it as to a novel. So far, he has been reluctant.’
‘You’re the publisher. Do you judge his story viable?’
‘I do. Ahh, here he is. John Watson, meet James Barrie.’
