‘Apply for a commission?!?’ Colonel Bramley exclaimed. ‘You’ve been out of the Army for over thirty years!
‘But not out of medicine.’
‘You look well enough, but at your age...’
‘Are you saying the Royal Army Medical Corps has enough doctors?’
In light of the recent news from the front, the Colonel stood and shook Watson’s hand.
‘Sign here.’
