His telescope trained on the Thames, Marvin rubbed his hands in glee. All was going to plan. The little steamship towing the barge was making steady progress against the current towards Her Majesty’s riverside gallery. Royal Fireworks, indeed!
To the untrained eye, dynamite was indistinguishable from fireworks, and the barge was loaded for the command performance to end all command performances. Literally.
With the entire Empire in imminent mourning, I should have invested in black crepe, he mused.
And his choice of vessel was the perfect. Genius, in fact. Who would ever expect such foul plots aboard the Steamship Friesland?
