A rumble like thunder shook London’s Victoria station.

‘What is it? A fire?’ Dr Watson asked in horror.

‘A bomb, I think,’ replied Sherlock Holmes.

Mangled metal formed grotesque shapes. Blood spatter was everywhere.

Days later, when the dust had settled, and the unknown culprits remained at large, Holmes and Watson stood in the rain observing the protesting mob.

Angry outbursts could be heard.

‘Anarchists! Irish nationalists! A bullet is too good for ‘em.’

‘And Unionists! Don’t forget them!’

‘That is unfounded. The British workman deserves better than malapert condemnations,’ said Holmes. ‘I dread what’s in store for the Empire.’
