.oOOo.

Since you ask me for a murder mystery, I will recount one of Holmes’ recent cases. Names will be obscured to protect the guilty and the innocent.

Gathered in the parlour, Holmes dismissed each suspect, for at the time of the murder:

The seductress had snuck out for a secret rendezvous (with the housekeeper).
The housekeeper (ibid).
The professor was deep in his opium.
The wealthy widow, a former librarian, would have chosen a quieter weapon to use in a library.
And, the Crimean veteran suffered from palsy and could not use a revolver.

That only left…

Whodunnit? (Three words)

.oOOo.

I have no idea but I do like the term 'denouement parlour' and will add it to my vocabulary.

Amused at a former librarian’s inability to shatter the peace being a rock solid alibi...

I'm ashamed to say I didn't get what you were doing at first (the answer is only 2 words in the American version) but then everything clicked. Well done! This was a clever take on the prompt.
