‘Holmes, do you think Toby is losing his touch?’
‘No, Watson. Why do you ask?’
‘This is the third squirrel he’s treed.’
‘Actually, it’s only one squirrel. He’s treed it thrice.’
‘He’s supposed to be tracing a missing child.’
‘I’ll let him sniff her shirt again and see if he catches her scent.’
‘She’s been missing since yesterday and there was snow last night.’
‘He’ll do fine, won’t you, Toby?’
‘Perhaps the fog will burn off and we will be able to see her footprints.’
‘Until then, we will have to rely on Toby’s nose to see through the fog.’
