Even though there is nothing more unaesthetic than a policeman, I wasn’t surprised to find that Sherlock Holmes had amongst his wardrobe, a Metropolitan Police constable’s uniform.
‘It’s very convincing, Holmes’ I said.
‘It’s authentic. I bought it from Murphy when he went back to Ireland.’
‘You will need the boots to complete your ensemble.’
Holmes grimaced. Policemen's boots were excruciating (and likely a leading factor in Tim Murphy’s decision to self-repatriate).
‘You’re a chameleon! With only a change of clothes and some fake sideburns you completely become another man.’
‘It starts with costume, but also requires the proper deportment.’
