Had my sea captain treated me better, I might never have jumped ship, but my current occupation provides me with revenge: one dose at a time. The British are not invulnerable. Despite their imagined superiority, they are only human and are possessed of the same weaknesses that affect even the lowest amongst us.
One pipe becomes two, and two become four. That is the way of the dragon. It is extremely satisfying to watch them debase themselves, to have them plead and beg me for the favour of one more pipe, or a few days’ grace for their accumulated debts.
