Take your time. Move slowly, limb by limb. Imperceptibly. Creepy-crawly.
Stay below the barbed wire’s deadly web.
Craters filled with muck and poisonous fog are worse than the snipers. Creepy-crawly.
Don’t chance the snipers. There’s a bounty on officers and medics, so you’re doubly at risk.

Bored artillerymen may lob a shell or two your way just to watch the fireworks. Do not react. Do NOT scream.
Don your gas mask systematically and calmly. Creepy-crawly.
The only distance that matters is the next safe inch. And then the next.
