Anyone bring marshmallows?

Baker Street
June 24, 1884

‘Inspector Gregson, to what do I owe the honour?’

‘It’s not you I seek, Mr Holmes. Where is Dr Watson?’

‘At his club, I presume. What do you want with him?’

‘There’s been a fire at the Barrington workhouse. It’s arson without a doubt.’

‘And you suspect Dr Watson!?’

‘Witnesses claim that he threatened the shop foreman!’

‘Of course he did! The conditions he found there were appalling. He registered a formal complaint. An official inquest is already scheduled. Were there any casualties?’

‘Yes. Twenty-one unfortunate women and children were trapped inside.’

‘Really?  Innocent victims, and you still suspect Watson?’

.oOOo.

Author's Notes:  If you want to read a story where I have dropped a burning building on Dr Watson, please read this story: Playing With Fire. It features art by the awesome  [info]quillwrecker, and for that alone is worth a look!

Excellent point, Holmes. Watson would never endanger innocents like that. Gregson is a moron.

Thanks!
Grab a copy of my picture if you need it. I removed all the overhead wires, streetlamp, and container trailers. It is also now a much smaller image and can be inserted easily into your posting.
:D

Simply a logical conclusion. As usual from Holmes. :)

Holmes' potential responses to this problem:

1) "Ohnoes! Not Watson! He's innocent! Innocent, I tell you!!!"
or
2) "Gregson, you are an idiot."

Not so!
Anything with the line: "...the nice, flame-retardant opera" is bound to be awesome!

Indeed! Gregson does not come off as one of Scotland Yard's finest in this story, but at least now he can concentrate on other suspects. Thanks for commenting!
