‘J-John C-Clay?? I don’t u-understand…’

‘Rest, Dr Watson. You have lost a lot of blood.’

‘W-Where are we…?’

‘Some place safe. What do you recall?’

‘…docks… supposed to meet— HOLMES?!? Is he—’

‘Mr Holmes was never there. It was a ruse; an ambush.’

‘N-No… I don’t trust you… L-Let me go.’

‘Doctor, you’ve been shot. You're not going anywhere.’

‘S-Someone… will n-notice… I’m missing.’

‘You misunderstand me. Your attackers now think that you’re dead, so it's in my best interest to keep you alive. Someone has gone to a great deal of effort to frame me for your murder.’

Or, as it turned out, one chapter in just a few words!
Thanks!

Certainly an interesting take on the prompt words...I'd love to see the expanded story, if you are ever inclined to expand it ;)

It has been extended into 3 drabbles!
This one would be fun to expand into a full case fic, time permitting!

Wait till Holmes hears about this, he is going to be absolutely livid! Hope whoever shot Watson has their running shoes on! :D

Poor Holmes thinks that John Clay killed Watson.
First some mourning, then some righteous revenge.

Oh, well written. Painful, tantalizing, and it does spark the interest in who this mysterious rescuer is. Or, for that matter, what happened there! That's the point of a good drabble though. Drag you in kicking and screaming and leave you there to contemplate it.

Also, Watson whump!

Thank you!
John Clay is the rogue-villain from The Red-headed League and certainly not a fan of Sherlock Holmes who foiled his clever scheme to undermine and rob the Coburg branch of the City and Suburban Bank.

It was a challenge to stuff it all into 100 words.
