‘Sanch-wary, sanch-wary!’ the chapel rang with the little urchin’s pleas.

Sanctuary?!? Give me Dr Watson’s wallet,’ said Sherlock Holmes, still winded from the chase.

The commotion disturbed the faithful who had come to pray. With disapproving glares, they muttered their uncharitable thoughts aloud.

‘Give it here, boy,’ Holmes commanded.

Instead, Holmes received a most unsportsmanlike punch, delivered with all the strength of a desperate child.

The boy ran, only to be seized at the door by Dr Watson, always the straggler.

‘My wallet, please.’

‘…ye-yessir…’

After the child had fled, Watson sat, head bowed, and waited until Holmes recovered himself.

.oOOo.

Yes, I'm afraid that was not what Holmes meant when he said "Give it here"!

SO excellent -- well voiced and very moving -- especially given the short length.

Thanks!
As I am not comfortable with religion and philosophy, I went with a more literal "sacred spaces" interpretation.

HAHAHAHA!!! Oh, Holmes, you really did ask for it. Well done! (And how do you manage to do these so quickly? It's amazing!)

Poor Holmes! But really, would a frightened street arab fight fair?
(And I manage by sacrificing quality for speed, and of course, cheating.)

Perhaps if Holmes had been a little more compassionate, he would not be walking funny now.

Or, perhaps, in Robert Downey's Juniors!

(I could not apply my own personal philosophy of "Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes!" to a canon fic.)

Ouch, poor Holmes.

I like that Watson while never leading the charge is always there in case Holmes manages not quite apprehend the perp.

Poor Holmes, indeed.
Watson assumes the role of the loyal follower in most instances, and his presence is a major contributor to Holmes' successes.

Ouch ;)

I am continually amazed by your ability to tell a story and convey emotions and keep the characters IC, all within 100 words ;)
