PG
Fandom: Sherlock Holmes (Gaslight)
Characters: Sherlock Holmes, Dr Watson
Summary: A vignette

Word Count: 100
Author's Notes: July 25th prompt: (Edward Gorey: "Deadly Blotter" is a title of one of Gorey's books)

In my long association with the great consulting detective, several cases have remained unpublished due to their sensitive nature. Some involved personal scandal which would lead to an innocent’s ruination, while others have involved state secrets which could upset the balance of power in Europe. The Case of the Deadly Blotter is one of the latter.

In late 1901, Sherlock Holmes received a desperate summons by a certain government official of his acquaintance. The arch-bureaucrat’s desk blotter had been stolen and details of his confidential correspondence were at risk.

Holmes solved it splendidly, however, regrettably, the particulars must remain concealed.

Always loves hints to the missing cases and I can totally see the deadly blotter being a very real potential problem. Well done.

Oh yes, the case was full of derring-do, and espionage, and villains, and obligatory whump, and crumpets for tea. Too bad the details must remain obscured!

Thanks!
I did not know very much about Gorey; just his titles for PBS Mystery and The Gashlycrumb Tinies. I love his bizarre sense of humour!
