Title: A New Dawning
Author:
capt_facepalm
Rating: PG
Fandom: Sherlock Holmes (Gaslight)
Characters: Mr Sherlock Holmes, Dr John H. Watson
Summary: Holmes' observation of his new fellow-lodger
Warnings: (none)
Word Count: 100
Author's Notes: July 4th 2014 prompt: Poem Prompt (Excerpt from Whitman's Song of the Banner at Daybreak)
My fellow-lodger sits at his desk and the words flow effortlessly from his pen.
Writing has become his purpose and his vivid imagination takes him places where his pain and disability do not exist.
Watson looks up and gives me a smile to reassure me that he is content.
But he is a terrible liar even when he says not a word. In his heart, he is a man of action, not a man of words, so to be confined to our Baker Street flat day after day eats away at his soul.
Perhaps my investigations will engage his interest.
