Inspector Lestrade looked up from the grisly remains of the unfortunate victim. Amongst the circle of gawkers beyond the cordon stood Mr Sherlock Holmes, his features kept inscrutable despite the circumstances. He had come alone – no tag-along flatmate this time. Good. That Dr Watson really should be home resting and not trying to keep up with active investigations. He is an amiable enough chap but he slows us down and I need Mr Holmes to be in top form. Besides, it would be on my head should he get injured. I do not see Mr Holmes taking on that responsibility.
