‘You’re not going to try writing poetry are you?’ exclaimed Sherlock Holmes regarding the book his fellow-lodger had taken down from the shelf.
Dr Watson scowled. ‘Why not? Isn’t my writing florid and romantic already?’
Holmes sighed, rolled his eyes, and was about to sigh again when the suspect they had chased into the library spotted them and reached for his revolver.
Instantly, Watson threw the volume, striking the villain square in the face and knocking him out cold.
‘Your poetic inclinations turned out to be more useful than I thought,’ said Holmes.
‘It’s what I call poetry in motion.’
