I wonder what Paget was thinking... or if he even for one moment considered what effect his drawing would have on the adaptations many years to come... :)

He was probably astounded that the stories were such a success and did not suspect something so trivial would become so iconic (and wrong)!

It is wrong to wear such headgear in town. It is extremely poor taste to wear such to the opera! He would stick out like a sore thumb!
