The silhouette of the Oratory could be seen against the pre-dawn sky. Although the arrest had been made earlier and the malefactors had been lead away, Mr Holmes and his associate, Dr Watson, were assisting the police with the remaining evidence.
‘It’s ingenious, really: hiding a body in another’s fresh grave.’
‘If it’s clever criminals you want, Mr Holmes, you'll find them here in Liverpool,’ said Inspector Robertson.
‘What about clever policemen?’
‘You could have a whole squad of men interested in your techniques. I would hand-pick them myself… And Dr Watson, the hospitals have need for your skills too.’
