‘There were only five of them, Holmes. They never had it before. You should have seen their faces.’
‘No doubt! But was it wise to expose them to such an indulgence? Such delicacies are beyond their means. It is almost cruel.’
‘My first ice cream was made with strawberries and was the best thing I have ever tasted. I just wanted to share the experience.’
‘You would have done better to buy them something substantial to fill their bellies... Why are you laughing? Oh, you did that too.’
