‘To survive Maiwand would have required some nerve…’

‘Or luck. I’d rather not test either. Let’s split.’

‘Coward! It doesn’t matter if he’s brave or lucky. It’s four against one.’

‘Erm, Boss, three against one.’

‘What was that, Spike? Spike?!?’

‘Two to one,’ their quarry intoned from the shadows.

‘Right. Snake, you go high and I’ll…’

‘No way, Boss, I’m outta here!’
