I used to hate going to Sussex, admitted Roy to himself. There were too many strangers at the train station and the rocking carriages were unsettling. Of course I would do as My Doctor wished no matter what. It made him sad because he wanted to visit his old friend and take in the fresh country air. I like it there too even though I am getting too old to worry the cat.
But My Doctor is the best of all masters. He bought me something called an automobile and lets me ride with my head out the window!

Supplementary Notes: To me, it is arguable to whether Roy is a minor character or not. Not inspired by real life events. No. Not at all.
Edited to add: It seems I did not read the whole prompt. Sorry about that. Roy will have to witness something going wrong some other time. Or maybe a new cat will worry him at the cottage. Whatever it is, it will happen off-screen.
This just in: The Plot Fairy has been by and applied her magic plot-crowbar. So if you squint very hard, you might see that the "thing that has gone wrong" was that Watson should have retired as well and should have moved in at Holmes' cottage.
Roy is an unreliable narrator because he only reports on the things that affect him personally.
