'What a lovely thing a... Watson, what do you call this smelly red thing?'

'Not poisonous enough for you to have retained its name in your brain attic.'

'Ouch! It bit me!'

'Thought you would have remembered about the thorns, though.'

Don't let me get away with this outrage

I LOVE YOU, CAPTAIN FACEPALM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, your pic isn't showing up. I don't know if this is because lj is wonky, or because you did something wrong. So I thought I'd give you a heads up.

Thanks!

Also, LJ must have been having an episode. I could not find a problem with the pic.

Haha! Very funny!
I also love the 'Characters' bit in the heading. "Sherlock Holmes, variable botanist; Dr John H Watson, interrupted breakfaster"
Fit of giggles successfully induced!

Holmes should refrain from philosophical discussion until Watson has finished his egg and toast. Actually, ACD should have refrained totally! I re-read the Naval Treaty and am still shaking my head that the rose scene was even included.

Now don't knock the rose scene! I once wrote a song from Watson's POV comparing his prickly, tender-hearted friend to that rose he admires. (And Jeremy Brett once said that the rose scene was one of his favorite acting moments as Holmes.)
