July 8 Prompt

‘Is Doctor Watson all right? He took quite a crack to the noggin last week.’

‘How should I know? He seemed well enough but Watson is always very close-lipped about his health.’

‘You didn’t notice anything strange about his behaviour, then?’

‘No stranger than usual. That is until he wandered out into the snowstorm without a word.’

‘That’s him.  On the path up ahead.’

‘We dare not get any closer, Inspector. He may be armed.’

‘Look! He’s dropped his umbrella. He’s just standing there. Is he…?’

‘No. Something’s wrong. Go fetch a coach or cab. I’ll keep him in sight.’
