Rating: PG
Fandom: Sherlock Holmes (Gaslight)
Characters: Mr Sherlock Holmes, Dr John H. Watson (mentioned)
Summary: Sherlock Holmes: Prepared for Anything
Warnings: (nothing standard applies)
Word Count: 100
Author's Notes: July 9th prompt: Make up an acronym and use it in your story.
The 1880’s were busy years for Sherlock Holmes and as his reputation grew, so did the demands on his time. On many occasions he found himself unprepared for the tasks at hand because, in his haste, he had forgotten to bring some item that was essential to his work. Being a clever fellow, Mr Holmes devised a memory aid to prevent him from repeating his past mistakes.
Binoculars (to observe from a distance)
Oilskins (London weather, and worse)
Skeleton keys (beats damaging a shoulder)
Watson (sorry about your shoulder)
Envelopes (for evidence)
Lantern (and oil)
Lens (to observe up close)

Date: 2013-07-11 05:54 pm (UTC)I picture these items being identified in chronological order from separate cases.
1) Blast! I can't see what they are doing over there!
2) Blast! It's pouring!
3) Oh, my dear fellow! That must have hurt!
4) Blast! I wish I hadn't kept Watson out of this!
5) Blast! I've nothing to put these samples in!
6) ...who turned out the lights?
7) Blast! These scribblings are too small to read!
