‘I shall not waste time with you. You're too inflexible, too disciplined once you've made up your mind. But Doctor Watson has a plenitude of human weaknesses, sentimental, soft. You may not tell me what I want to know, but he will.’

Moriarty would go through with his threat, of that I had no doubt. In him I saw the worst of me; the dispassionate thinking machine, the perfect reasoner. He would destroy anything or anyone who got in his way and never bat an eye.

He could see through me as well and he knew his threat was enough.

Moriarty does know where to push to get what he wants.

The scene in Game of Shadows where Moriarty tells Holmes that he will go after Watson even though the doctor is now married and no longer working with Holmes gives me chills. Thanks!

I think you have bent the prompt into a thoughtful shape:-)

Thanks! I did not know what to do with this in the beginning.

I think this is a most clear and silver backed use of the prompt, as well as being an excellent drabble in itself.

I see what you did there! I'm glad you enjoyed the drabble. Thanks!

Oooh. If the Professor had ever truly fathomed Watson's importance...

Yeah. Watson would have died a horrible death and Holmes would be able to deduce all the particulars. (Thanks!)

*nods* And just as Moriarty is Holmes's mirror, Moran is Watson's.

Agreed. Too bad ACD overlooked that obvious comparison. Thanks!

Notice how I avoided actually writing mirror-verse?
(Heh heh heh!)
